Born in Rochester, New York, Matt Spetzler grew up in Roanoke, Virginia. Newly displaced among the Appalachin Mountains, Matt spent his free time hiking in the hills and forging his engineering spirit by, what Matt calls "taking things apart." These two loves of Matt's led to his founding of GT Off-Road, an organization dedicated to designing, building, and racing a single-seat off-road vehicle in competition against other schools in the nation. When not building cars or studying for his mechanical engineering degree, Matt enjoys traveling and participating in intramural sports. After graduation, he plans to work in strategy consulting before attaining an MBA and starting his own capital company to fund new engineering concepts.
