Having been born in New York and grown up in south Florida, Melissa has collected a variety of experiences in different parts of the country. Her interests range from fast-pitch softball to learning more about her Italian ancestors. She is the oldest of five daughters and the first to attend Georgia Tech! After some concern about whether or not her decision to study management would be a good match with Tech's strong engineering, Melissa soon found that she was able to develop some valuable technical skills along with her business education and is excited about starting her third year. Last Spring she chartered the Italian American Student Association at Georgia Tech and currently serves as the club's vice president. Other loves of hers include Dancing Salsa and tutoring elementary school students. She plans to get a certificate in International Business and use her language skills to work in either Spain or Italy. In the meantime you can find her cooking for friends in her apartment and visiting her family in Suwanee, GA on the weekends.

Melissa, on why she joined ERT: I wanted to be exposed to real world situations and learn about life outside of my college bubble. ERT has given me the confidence to speak my mind along with the ability to think on a more critical level. It has also given me the opportunity to learn from my fellow students and our guest speakers. I feel so much more well-rounded for being a part of ERT.

Favorite ERT speaker: The Israeli consul speaking about the Middle Eastern conflict
